There are several types of visa for tourists in Thailand.
30 day Visa on Arrival (VoA) at airports (valid for 41 nationalities)
15 day Visa on Arrival via land borders
60 day Tourist Visa must be applied for in advance
Since our program is 45 days, a multiple entry 60 day tourist visa is wise. However, if you are unable to obtain one, you can come in on a 30 day VoA and then cross the border to Myanmar and back to obtain a 15 day VoA (cost is about 500 baht).
The cost of visas varies depending on what passport you hold and where you apply. Give yourself at least a month to have the visa processed.
