I am so happy to have been a part of Spark Circus this year. I feel really good about the work (play we did). Everyone on the team gave their all. The kids were so appreciative of all our performances, playshops, games, dances. I loved playing with them, be it teaching them to juggle, helping them make giant bubbles, chase bubbles, hula hooping with them, or dancing with them. I especially loved the dancing. All the kids were so much fun and I loved when they shared with us their traditional dances and break dancing. They are so talented and so loving.
Even on days when I was less than 100% and feeling tired I got some smiles and high fives and I was energized from all the love. Every person, young and old, I’ve met on this journey has touched my heart in one way or another. I am amazed at the generosity and kindness I have received from people who have little, such as the children at a migrant school making us all bracelets or being invited for tea by a family at the Nu Po refugee camp. I learned so much throughout the process. I learned not only circus skills and how to be a better teacher, but also how to be a better person. I am forever grateful to have been a part of such an amazing group.
