We have a contemporary circus show this year with a story and strong characters. Tuan captured our portraits in costume before our first show.
Rosie is a buzzing, poi-spinning bee. Tink is the bandleader. Charlie as the main character links us all together. Guillaume is her hopeful sweetheart. Tod plays the villain who swoops in on a song. Chris is the flower to Rosie’s bee. Kira plays the acrobatic companion who gets kidnapped and Tuan dances as the main character’s brain and inner feelings.
It sounds a little complicated, but it works beautifully. In under three days we went from a blank stage to a show featuring multiple group and duo acts, all our sound cues in order, new props and costume pieces created. It’s a wonder of teamwork and dedication.
The kids are going to love this.
